STUDI KASUS UPAYA PENURUNAN NYERI PADA PASIEN GOUT ARTHRITIS DENGAN TERAPI KOMPRES JAHE MERAH DITATANAN KELUARGA

Gout Arthritis is an inflammatory process that occurs due to the deposition of uric acid crystals in the tissues around the joints (tophi). The increase in the incidence of gout arthritis does not only occur in developed countries. However, it also occurs in developing countries, one of which is Indonesia. Based on Riskesdas data in 2018, the incidence of joint disease reached 11.9% of the total population in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of red ginger compresses on reducing pain in gout arthritis patients. The researcher in this case study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach of efforts to reduce pain in gout arthritis patients with red ginger compress therapy. Researchers took data from 1 patient (1 case) Mrs. J aged 50 years with nursing problems for gout arthritis pain with red ginger compress therapy intervention for 3 consecutive days. The action was carried out for 3 days a week, the results of the pain scale after implementation dropped to 3 on the 3rd day, uric acid levels were 7.3 mg/dl, the fingers of his right hand were no longer swollen, and the client was able to activities without being disturbed by the pain he feels.
