Abstract

Hallucinations are one of the symptoms of mental disorders in which the client experiences changes in sensory perception, feeling false sensations in the form of sound, sight, taste, touch or smell. The client feels a stimulus that never really existed. Most schizophrenic patients experience auditory hallucinations in the form of whispering voices that come from within the individual or from outside the individual. How to control hallucinations with thought stopping therapy, which is an example of a cognitive behavioral psychotherapy technique, which can be used to help clients change thinking processes. This study aims to analyze the effect of though stopping therapy on patients with auditory hallucinations. This case study is a study based on EBP (Evidence Based Practice) to determine the application of Thought Stoping therapy to the ability to control hallucinations. The type of research used in the case study is descriptive method with data collection and observation. The results of the case study research were obtained after stopping therapy for 3 days in patients with sensory perception disorders hallucinations the patient could control his perception well, the whispers of intangible voices were decreasing, the patient was much calmer, talked a lot, and did not lock himself in the room, the client began to socialize. and understand that the whispers are not real. This shows that though stopping therapy has a good effect on patients with impaired sensory perception of hallucinations.
