Abstract

Pulmonary TB is in infectious contagious disease that occurs in human respiratory system at the lower part caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. Problem that often happens at pulmonary TB patient is decrease of oxygen saturation that can be seen by a tool called pulse oxymetry. Efforts made to reduce shortness of breath or oxygen saturation decreased is pursed lip breathing. This case study aims to determine the effectiveness of pursed lip breathing on oxygen saturation of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in RSUD Batang. The number of samples in this case study was 1 respondent with the sampling technique using the interview and observation method after carrying out the pursed lip breathing technique. The results of the pursed lip breathing technique can increase oxygen saturation. It can be concluded that the pursed lip breathing effect is to increase oxygen saturation in pulmonary tuberculosis patient.
