IMPLEMENTASI TERAPI TERTAWA UNTUK MENURUNKAN TEKANAN DARAH PASIEN HIPERTENSI DI TATANAN KELUARGA

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, can be described as a condition where the pressure within the arteries is generally increased. Hypertension refers to a condition where an individual experiences an elevated blood pressure above normal limits, contributing to increased morbidity and mortality rates. This study employs a case study method based on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to explore the impact of laughter therapy on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The objective is to determine the effect of laughter therapy on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This case study was conducted by providing education on laughter therapy to help reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Patients were observed for one week with three sessions. Evaluations were conducted by measuring blood pressure at each session. Before implementation on Mrs. M, her blood pressure on the first day was 215/120 mmHg, while for Mrs. S, her blood pressure on the first day was 206/104 mmHg. After one week of implementation with three visits, the results showed a decrease in blood pressure for Mrs. M to 143/90 mmHg, and for Mrs. S, a decrease in blood pressure to 165/85 mmHg. Providing education on laughter therapy to hypertensive patients can lower blood pressure.
