Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation. Pain may be accompanied by feelings of cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and dizziness. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it was found that the incidence of 90% of women experiencing dysmenorrhea, in Central Java alone the incidence of dysmenorrhea reached 56%. The treatment of dysmenorrhea can be both pharmacological and nonpharmacological according to the level of dysmenorrhea experienced. An effort that can be made to deal with dysmenorrhea in a nonpharmacological manner is to apply warm compresses. This case study uses the Quasi Experiment method (passive observation) in the form of Evidence Based Practice (EBP). The subjects used in this study are in accordance with the evidence related to the data of the problems discussed. The data taken correspond to certain limitations and criteria to explore the management of dysmenorrhea pain with warm compresses. The data obtained is a problem then assessed, applied according to the interventions that have been designed, as well as the results obtained are evaluated according to the effectiveness and success of existing changes. The conclusion of this study is that the administration of warm compresses has been shown to be able to reduce the scale of dysmenorrhea pain from a scale of 5 to a scale of 3.
