Abstract

Anxiety is a natural response when something occurs and threatens the integrity of each individual. Anxiety is normal if it can support adaptive behavior in preparing to face what is feared. However, anxiety will become abnormal if responded to excessively. Anxiety is the most commonly found psychiatric disorder across all age ranges (Amira et al., 2021). Studies according to the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) estimated that anxiety contributed to 26.8 million causes of disability per year in 2010. According to World Health Organization (WHO) statistical data, the prevalence of anxiety disorders in 2015 reached 3.6% with a total estimated number of people with anxiety disorders being 264 million. The prevalence of anxiety disorders in America in females is 7.7% and in males is 3.6%. The prevalence of emotional mental disorders manifested by symptoms of anxiety for ages 15 and above reached approximately 9.8% of the Indonesian population. Anxiety can be overcome in several ways, including nonpharmacological therapy such as 5-finger hypnosis therapy (Suyatno, 2009). To conduct the "implementation of 5-finger hypnosis therapy on anxiety patients", and observe anxiety before and after the implementation of 5-finger hypnosis therapy. This case study is based on EBP (Evidence-Based Practice) to explore the management of 5-finger hypnosis therapy in anxiety patients, data presentation is adjusted to descriptive case studies because the results of this case study are presented in narrative and tabular form. There was a decrease in anxiety scores in both study subjects. In the first study subject, the score decreased from 24 (before) to 28 (after), while in the second study subject, the score decreased from 18 (before) to 10 (after).
